Based on their long term research on small-scale voluntary development organisations, Sara Kinsbergen and Lau Schulpen wrote a brief factsheet, for citizens initiating COVID 19 aid initiatives within their own community. Factsheet COVID19 Also available in Dutch and French  

During the ISTR 2018 Conference in Amsterdam, as part of the Dutch Days, we hosted an interactive Round Table discussion Do-it-yourself in development aid. During this session we discussed the (envisioned) role and position of Dutch PDIs as part of the civil society arena (locally and internationally). We focused in particular on Dutch organisations working in Kenya. We did so taking into account and reflecting on important developments both in the Netherlands and Kenya. Thanks to the valuable insights of Caesar Ngule, Programmes Director at Kenya Community Development Foundation Robert Wiggers, Deputy director at Stichting Wilde Ganzen we had an interesting discussion with the participants of the session.
